Vesica Piscis | Laban in Flow
HENRIQUE SCHULLER AND MARIA MOMMENSOHN
VESICA PISCIS
For this creation we envision a common thought: to produce an artistic event without neglecting our individual characteristics. In order to relate them with the objective of experiencing what emerges in the place of between the body-mental traits that mark us as creators-interpreters. That which no longer refers only to Maria and only Henry, but to what has been produced; it is produced and reproduced artistically among us, continually updating itself in the duration of this process. In this context, our conception begins with what occurs from the contamination of ideas that approach, interact and establish relationships that modify both.
Any emergencies of the poetic dimension in this creation were only, are and will be possible based on our perception of our connective affinities as creator-interpreters and of what space presents to us in terms of problematizations. The latter, conditioned in its dimensions: kinetic, from intrinsic elements to the language of dance; the architectural question (because the act is located in an art gallery with its specificities); its visual-plastic treatment (objects, lights, colors, projections, costumes); its resonance (sounds: vocalizations, noises, electroacoustic music) and its political dimension (meeting with the public). Our interest is in the approximation and contamination between these territorial dimensions, which will only be effectively completed in each performance, which proposes a compositional exercise for the construction of other, intensive and extra-daily spaces, populated with dancing-flowing bodies, these being transitional in a contextualized space-time from topological-kinetic-virtual propositions.
The choice of the concept that gives title to this work, goes through the need to make explicit in the movement the plastic character shared in both languages: visual arts and dance. A continuous movement in flow, in time, space and presence, will deal with dance based on our update of what Laban elaborated in his theory about the plastic and dynamic relationship of space within bodies, interiority, as well as sensations with the space outside, sensations made visible, actions in the environment, exteriority.
Our intention with this dance-installation is to provide a kinetic experience of a dynamic space, because as the audience moves, new aspects of the space are revealed. The images that will be produced in this artistic event, create bundles of shapes, shadows and lines, reflections and tensions in which the public can experience the concept of Spatial Harmonies at the sensory level. In this immersive environment, dance performances will be held, where the audience will be inserted in the same plane of the scene, alternating with moments, in which the audience will be able to interact with all poetic elements, subjectively proposing singularities based on the construction of their own kinetic trajectories and poetic.
